The most outstanding location within
the province of Sancti Spiritus is Trinidad City.
The Villa that was founded by the spanish back
in 1514.
Sancti Spíritus, was settled on the margins
of Yayabo river, and still nowadays the visitor
can enjoy the view of its historic center buildings
with the mixture of architectonic styles that
prevailed in Cuba during the colonial times.
The most important constructions found in the
city are the Iglesia Parroquial Mayor,the Teatro
Principal and the bridge over Yayabo River.
Also an agricultural region , the economy in
this province is based in the production of sugar,tobbaco,
fishing and the tourism that attracted by the
charms of Trinidad City.
Trinidad is known as a museum city and it is
also one of the better preserved cities in Latin
America in terms of colonial architecture. Trinidad
, its museums ,bars and restaurants are places
that deserve a visit. This city was declared a
World Heritage site in 1988.
Places of interest like Plaza Mayor, La Canchanchara
Bar, La Iglesia Parroquial Mayor, the Romantic
museum, the Musuem of Natural Sciences , the Architecture
Museum and Playa Ancon with its tranquil warm
waters,make the difference between Trinidad and
other Cuba major cities.
